Ian Hobbs

Yesterday evening, my friend Ian (ianhobbs.net) aka codey, popped in for a random chitchat. What started as a quick go at my current lighting config turned into what I call a good yield -- got Ian's portrait. Woot!

  • 2 softboxes (one on each side) pointing at a white paper background mostly, if I recall
  • manual, 85mm f7.1 160/s ISO50

Basically we wanted the lighting effect, but had too much Lux, so had to reduce it by upping the ISO. I tried to convince Ian that I we can push the sync speed past 200/s and into 300/s if we went with a cable connection rather than via a normal RF trigger. But it all happened so fast that we just ran with what we had already.
