Dogboy by Elyte Blansjaar
My friend Elyta (elyteblansjaar.com) needed a quick promotional shot of one of her sculptures that she is entering into a gallery show. As it goes I sometimes overproduce things, but from the process she got some options and I get to do a show-n-tell now.
I had a hard choice to make. On the one hand the sculpture is a work of art. As far as artdoco goes, accuracy rules supreme, with the object being perched on a plinth perhaps with a pinch of shadow. On the other hand it is also a premium product with exaggerated human characteristics. People lend themselves to portraiture and drama. With time in my favor I did it both ways with options -- take your pick.
