Boldness on Broadway, also George Street

Advice for new street photographers:

  1. Don't be sneaky. People don't like sneaky. Be in plain site, smile and be genuine. Every time anyone questions you firstly offer your card, explain what you are collecting, and where it will go.
  2. Don't ask for permission, but apologize when you need to. People default to No. Engaging can ruin the natural moment.
  3. Find a good spot and let interesting things come to you. Find a busy street corner. Pick a good time like when the sun low, or on a windy day.
  4. Figure out what works and repeat. A collection over time reveals things that are not obvious in any one instant.
